About Seddons
Please sign in to see more. Seddons first appear in the mid 1400's mainly in the area Manchester and Liverpool, Lancashire, England. There is no positive understanding of the meaning or origin of the name. If anyone knows please let me know. This family is one of the oldest. There is a Farm at Ringley still called Seddon Fold.
Another early Seddon was John Seddon who accompnied the Middleton Archers at Flodden Field, and is commerated in St Leonards Church, Middleton, Lancashire, with a Stained Glass window.
I have traced my own family back to about 1580, Rumworth, Bolton, Lancashire and to this day there is a listed Farm called Seddon Fold.
I have a database of over 80,000 Seddon events which goes back to the mid 1400's and if anyone has any questions or wants help with Seddon please ask
